Fire Team Zulu, or FTZ for short, was a site inspired by the 2009 release of Halo 3: ODST and community's love for challenging methods of playing the game, especially it's Firefight mode. Originally called FireFight Friday, FTZ was updated bi-weekly with new challenges for players to accomplish in multiple modes of the game. Think the first mission is too easy? Try to finish it with picking up no weapons. Lost Platoon too easy? Jump in on a No Vehicles and No Heavies challenge and see how long you can last. FTZ was popular enough to even be featured on Bungie's and HBO's front page news feeds! The site even eventually added support for Halo 3 and Halo Reach challenges, and Halo 1 and 2 were the last games to recieve support on the site.
Due to other projects coming into existence, Fire Team Zulu was eventually shut down instead of becoming inactive. FTZ was briefly resurrected as a subsection of The Arcademy later on, now featuring it's usual Halo challenges with the addition of Destiny. This later version of Fire Team Zulu was shut down along with the end of The Arcademy.
The last standalone version of Fire Team Zulu is currently archived here.
